Who we are (data controller)
The data controller is Cargeen FZE, a free-zone company registered in the United Arab Emirates, operating cargeen.com and its apps. This policy is governed by the UAE Federal Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 — PDPL). Privacy contact: support@cargeen.com.
Data we collect
Your name and phone number when you contact a dealer, make an offer, or book a test drive; your phone for verification when creating an account; language preference, favorites and saved searches; and any details you voluntarily provide in financing or sell-your-car requests. We never store buyer passwords.
Legal basis
We process your data on the basis of your explicit consent when you submit any contact form, contractual necessity when you create an account or use our services, and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the platform.
Sharing
We never sell your data. When you contact a dealer (offer, test drive, inquiry, WhatsApp/call), your name and phone are shared with that specific dealer only so they can respond, and the dealer must use them for that purpose only. Financing requests are shared with the financing partner you explicitly approve.
Storage & cross-border transfers
Our data is hosted with secure cloud infrastructure providers (Railway, Vercel, Cloudflare R2) whose servers may be located outside the UAE. We apply appropriate contractual and technical safeguards to any cross-border transfer as required by the PDPL.
Retention
We keep contact and offer data for as long as your account or dealer interaction is active, then for up to 24 months for record-keeping and regulatory purposes unless the law requires otherwise. You can request deletion at any time.
Your rights under the PDPL
You have the right to access and obtain a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, and withdraw consent at any time — via support@cargeen.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office if you believe our processing violates the law.
Security
We use encryption in transit (HTTPS), strict role-based access controls, and an audit log for sensitive operations. If a breach affecting your data occurs, we notify in line with UAE Data Office requirements.
Cookies
We use essential cookies for your session and language preference, and localStorage for on-device favorites. We currently use no third-party advertising trackers; if that changes we will update this policy and ask for consent.
